Vienna Migration Conference 2022

Vienna Migration Conference 2022

Dear colleagues,

Today, we would like to share with you the upcoming annual Vienna Migrant Conference (11-12 October 2022).

This is a key global forum to discuss new advancements in research, practices and policies about international migration. The conference will gather people from all over the world and fields; this will be a great occasion to debate and exchange perspectives among academics, practitioners and decision-makers.

This year's topic is the shifting regional and global geopolitical and economic situations; the attention will be - for clear reasons - mainly on the situation of the Ukrainian conflict but the conference will also engage participants in open dialogues on previously existing topics, such as climate changes and effects of Covid-19.

Here is a list of keynote speakers:

  • Keynote speeches from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson;
  • A high-level panel in which senior European politicians share their views on managing migration in turbulent times and their visions for the future of Europe;
  • Panel sessions on the evolving global and regional contexts in which migration policy is situated, the instrumentalisation of mass migration and the prospects for EU migration and asylum policy reform;

The full conference will be streamed online through online registration at this link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/vienna-migration-conference-2022-online-…
