CERC Institutes Present the Podcast "Borders & Belonging"

Borders and Belonging

Dear Colleagues, 

We would like to point to your attention this new podcast co-produced by the Canada Excellence Research Chair and & Integration at Toronto Metropolitan University and openDemocracy. Every episode will examine and reflect on specific topics related to migrations and borders; indeed, the main aim of this product is to foster knowledge regarding the phenomenon of international migrations and debunk myths. 

 Episode 1 "Why We Build Border Walls" has been just released and it goes through the main theme related to the creation of physical and political lines of division and separation. The journalist Todd Miller opens the episode with a reflection on the dangers facing undocumented migrants along the US-Mexican border.

Maggie Perzyna is the main host of this podcast, she is a researcher with the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in the Migration & Integration program at Toronto Metropolitan University. 

In the next episodes the topics will be: How has Brexit Changed the UK for Migrants? and Human Smuggling or Human Trafficking? Why the Difference Matters.
