Dr Dino Numerato is Assistant Professor and Head of Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic). He holds a PhD in Sociology from Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic). Prior to joining the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, he worked as a research fellow at Loughborough University (UK) and Bocconi University (Milan, Italy). As part of the SIRIUS project, he will be responsible for leading the WP4 “Civil society barriers and enablers”. He will take advantage of his research experience and focus on various forms of civic engagement, notably in the areas sport and health care. He is currently the principal investigator of the project “Civic engagement and politics of health care” funded by the Czech Science Foundation. Previously, he carried out Marie Curie Fellowship (EU FP7) research project FANSREF on mobilization of football fans in the European context. As a team member, he has also been involved in several other international research projects, in particular EUROHOPE (EU FP7), SC-SPORT-EX (EU FP6) and DIOSCURI (EU FP6).
