The Refugee System: A Sociological Approach

The Refugee System

The book by Dr Rawan Arar and Prof David Scott FitzGerald examines the global system of refugee movements.

The authors move their analysis from the story of a Syrian family that escapes from the war in its land and finds itself spread around several counties seeking asylum.

The research points to the interconnections among migration policies, movements, and regional responses to these phenomena to show how the change in one part of the global system affects many others.
