Migration Policy Centre Annual Conference


Between the 7th and 8th of June, the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) at the European University Institute is having their annual conference. This year’s conference will include research and policy debates about the characteristics of human smuggling and the implications for policies aimed at reducing irregular migration; asylum policies and integration challenges; the potential tensions between national institutions (especially national welfare states) and common EU policies on migration and mobility; the future of the global governance of migration, with a focus on the two new “global compacts” on migration and refugees; the variations and determinants of public opinion on migrants; the relationships between migration, foreign aid, and development; the characteristics of mobilities in the Mediterranean; and recent migration policy developments in North America and other world regions.
